Slow down and immerse yourself in the soul of the Maghreb with our 5-day private expedition. This is more than just a transfer from Marrakech to Fes; it is a deep dive into the Berber heartland. With an extra day dedicated entirely to the Merzouga region, you’ll have the rare chance to explore the « Black Desert, » meet nomadic families, and witness the changing colors of the Erg Chebbi dunes without the rush of the road.

Depart Marrakech for the High Atlas Mountains. Explore the cinematic history of Ait Ben Haddou before settling in Ouarzazate. Enjoy a relaxed evening at a traditional Riad.

Travel along the "Road of a Thousand Kasbahs." Walk through the Skoura palm groves and see the Kasbah Amridil. We continue to the Dades Gorges to marvel at the unique rock formations and spend the night in the valley.

Hike through the majestic Todra Gorges, where the limestone walls reach 300 meters. After lunch, we drive toward the golden dunes of Merzouga. Mount your camel for a sunset trek into your Luxury Desert Camp.

No driving today! Explore the dunes in a 4x4, visit a nomadic family in their tent to share a cup of tea, and enjoy the spiritual Gnawa music in Khamlia. Spend a second night in the desert or a luxury hotel at the dune line.

A long but beautiful journey north. We pass through the stunning Ziz Valley, stop for lunch in Midelt, and meet the wild monkeys in the Azrou cedar forests. Arrive in the medieval city of Fes by sunset.

The distance between Marrakech and Fes via the desert is significant. A 5-day itinerary turns a long transfer into a true vacation. Instead of rushing through the mountains and dunes, you have a dedicated day (Day 4) to actually live the desert life, relax by the dunes, and explore nomadic culture without the pressure of driving to the next city.

Day 4 is the "Deep Desert" day. We take the 4x4 for an excursion around the Erg Chebbi dunes. You’ll visit a nomadic family living in traditional tents to share tea and learn about their lifestyle, explore the "Mifis" mines, and listen to the spiritual Gnawa music in the village of Khamlia. The afternoon is yours to relax at a pool at the edge of the dunes or try more sandboarding

This is a one-way journey. It starts in Marrakech and ends in Fes. It is the most efficient and scenic way to travel between Morocco's two most famous Imperial Cities while experiencing the Sahara Desert in between.

The drive takes about 7 to 8 hours. However, since you had a full day of rest on Day 4, you’ll start this journey refreshed. We make several stops at the Ziz Valley (the palm grove), Midelt for lunch, and the Azrou cedar forests to see the wild monkeys, making the trip feel much shorter and enjoyable.

Absolutely. Most of our guests love spending the first desert night in our Luxury Camp and the second night in a traditional Kasbah-style hotel at the edge of the dunes. This gives you the chance to enjoy a swimming pool and a different view of the Sahara. Just let us know your preference when booking.

Most of your guest houses in Ouarzazate and Dades have Wi-Fi. In the Merzouga desert camp, there is no Wi-Fi, allowing you to fully disconnect. However, there is usually a mobile signal at the top of the dunes if you need to make an urgent call.
