Journey from the bustling souks of Marrakech to the infinite silence of the Erg Chebbi dunes. This 3-day private desert tour is our most popular circuit, offering a masterclass in Moroccan diversity. You will cross the rugged High Atlas, walk through ancient movie-set Kasbahs, explore dramatic limestone canyons, and finally, find yourself in the heart of the Sahara. It’s not just a trip; it’s a deep dive into the soul of the South.

We start our morning climbing the Atlas Mountains, stopping for panoramic vistas. After visiting the historic Ait Ben Haddou, we head through Ouarzazate (the Hollywood of Africa) and the Valley of Roses. The day ends with a peaceful stay in the heart of the Dades Gorges.

After breakfast, we explore the majestic Todra Gorges—300m high cliffs that are a paradise for walkers. We then drive through the fossil-rich town of Erfoud before reaching the dunes of Merzouga. Here, your camel caravan awaits to take you deep into the sands. Dinner is served at your luxury camp, followed by a night of Saharan rhythms.

Wake up to a spectacular sunrise over the dunes. After a traditional breakfast, we begin our return journey. We travel through the volcanic landscapes of Alnif and the palm-fringed Draa Valley. We cross the Atlas one last time, arriving back in Marrakech by evening with memories to last a lifetime.

The journey is approximately 560 km. While it’s a long drive, we break it up with frequent stops at scenic viewpoints, historical Kasbahs, and lush valleys. The changing landscapes—from the snowy Atlas peaks to the golden dunes—make the drive part of the adventure.

Absolutely! Since this is a private tour, you have the flexibility to spend more time at a specific site or take a spontaneous break. Your driver-guide is there to ensure the trip matches your pace and interests.

Zagora (2 days) is a rocky desert and is ideal if you are short on time. Merzouga (3 days) is home to Erg Chebbi, the famous high sand dunes. If you want the "classic" Sahara experience with massive dunes as far as the eye can see, Merzouga is the one to choose.

Our luxury desert camp is equipped with electricity in each tent for charging your devices. While we encourage you to "unplug" and enjoy the silence, there is usually basic mobile signal, though Wi-Fi is limited to ensure a true Saharan atmosphere.

You only need to take a small backpack with your essentials for the night (pajamas, toothbrush, etc.) to the camp. Your main luggage will remain safe and secure in the locked 4x4 vehicle or van, which will meet you at the camp or back at the base.

At Travel Morocco Trip, we work exclusively with local nomads who treat their animals with respect and care. The welfare of the camels is a priority for us and the local community.
