Trade the red dust of Marrakech for the emerald green waters of Ouzoud. Dropping over 110 meters in a spectacular three-tiered cascade, the Ouzoud Waterfalls are a true natural wonder of Morocco. Located in the Middle Atlas mountains, this oasis of freshness offers a perfect day of hiking, wildlife spotting, and relaxation.

With Travel Morocco Trip, your journey to the falls is as comfortable as it is scenic. From meeting the playful Barbary Macaques (monkeys) to taking a boat ride to the foot of the falling water, this excursion is a favorite for nature lovers, photographers, and families alike.

Your private Travel Morocco Trip driver-guide will pick you up in a comfortable 4x4 or Minivan. We leave Marrakech behind, driving through fertile plains and rural landscapes filled with olive, apricot, and pomegranate trees.

After a 2.5-hour drive, we reach the village of Ouzoud. We begin our walk down toward the falls through ancient olive groves. Here, you’ll meet the Barbary Macaques—don’t forget your camera! These playful residents are always happy to pose for photos.

At the bottom of the falls, you can feel the refreshing mist. Opt for a small boat tour to see the falls from a unique perspective (and maybe see a rainbow in the spray!). If you’re feeling active, our guide will take you on a scenic hike through the surrounding fields to reach the very top of the falls for an eagle-eye view.

Settle into a table at a riverside restaurant. Whether you choose a slow-cooked Tagine or grilled Berber barbecue, your meal comes with the rhythmic sound of the water and a spectacular backdrop.

On our way back to Marrakech, we take a special detour to the "Door of the Cave" (Imi n'Ifri). This massive natural stone arch was formed over thousands of years and offers a dramatic viewpoint over the flowing river below.

We return you to your Riad/Hotel in the late afternoon, leaving you with memories of the greenest side of Morocco.

The journey takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours each way. However, the road passes through the beautiful Middle Atlas foothills and rural villages, and we make several stops for photos and coffee to make the drive comfortable and scenic.

Yes! During the summer months, many visitors enjoy a refreshing dip in the natural pools. The water comes from the mountains, so it is quite cool even in the heat of July. If you plan to swim, don't forget to bring your swimwear and a towel!

They are 100% wild Barbary Macaques! They live freely in the olive groves surrounding the falls. They are very friendly and accustomed to humans, often coming close to interact or pose for photos. Your Travel Morocco Trip guide will show you how to interact with them safely and respectfully.

There are two ways down: a well-paved path with stairs (about 20 minutes) and a more natural hiking trail through the olive trees. Both are manageable for people with a basic fitness level. If you have mobility issues, you can still enjoy spectacular views from the top cafes without walking all the way down.

At the foot of the falls, local boatmen offer short trips on small, colorful wooden boats. These boats take you right up to the mist of the cascading water—it’s a fantastic way to feel the power of the falls and get some incredible "rainbow" photos! (Small extra fee applies locally).

Most tours only visit the waterfalls, but at Travel Morocco Trip, we include a stop at the Imi n'Ifri Natural Bridge. It’s a massive, ancient stone arch formed by nature. It’s a "hidden gem" that most tourists miss, providing a perfect geological contrast to the lush waterfalls.
