Experience an unforgettable transition across Morocco’s most diverse landscapes. This 4-day boutique journey takes you from the bustling red streets of Marrakech, over the snow-capped High Atlas peaks, and deep into the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. After a night of Saharan magic, we head north through the lush Ziz Valley and the alpine cedar forests, finally arriving in the spiritual heart of the kingdom: Fes. It is a one-way odyssey of culture, nature, and adventure.

Our journey begins early as we climb the Atlas Mountains. We visit the legendary Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a backdrop for countless Hollywood epics. After lunch, we explore Ouarzazate, the "Hollywood of Africa," and stay overnight in a comfortable hotel or Riad.

We drive through the "Road of a Thousand Kasbahs," stopping in the Valley of Roses. After marveling at the "Monkey Fingers" rock formations in Dades, we head to the spectacular Todra Gorges. You’ll have time for a hike along the river before settling into your guest house for the night.

As we move toward the desert, the landscape opens up. We pass through Erfoud, famous for its fossils. In Merzouga, you’ll trade your vehicle for a camel to trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes. Enjoy a traditional dinner and nomadic music around the campfire at your Luxury Desert Camp.

After a desert sunrise, we head north. We traverse the magnificent Ziz Valley and the Middle Atlas Mountains. After lunch in Midelt, we visit the cedar forests of Azrou to see the monkeys and stop in Ifrane. We arrive in the ancient city of Fes by early evening.

Yes! This is a one-way tour. We will pick you up from your accommodation in Marrakech and drop you off directly at your Riad or Hotel in Fes (or the airport if preferred) at the end of the fourth day.

The final day is the longest driving segment (approximately 7 to 8 hours). However, we break up the journey with several scenic stops, including the Ziz Valley, a lunch break in Midelt, and visits to the cedar forests of Azrou and the town of Ifrane to ensure the trip remains comfortable and engaging.

Yes! On Day 4, as we pass through the cedar forests of Azrou, we stop at a well-known spot where the Barbary Macaques live. You’ll have the chance to see them in their natural habitat and take photos before we continue to Fes.

You don’t need to worry about your heavy bags. Your main luggage will stay safe in the locked 4x4 vehicle or van, which will meet you at the desert camp. You only need to carry a small backpack with your essentials (camera, toothbrush, etc.) for the night in the dunes.

Definitely. Merzouga (Erg Chebbi) features much larger and higher sand dunes compared to the rocky desert of Zagora. Our luxury camp in Merzouga offers a more "classic" Sahara experience with vast golden dunes right at your doorstep, along with full en-suite facilities (private shower and toilet).

While some travelers do this in 3 days, we highly recommend the 4-day option. It allows you to spend your first night in Ouarzazate and the second in Dades, meaning you won't feel rushed and will have more time to enjoy the hikes in the Gorges and the beauty of the Atlas before reaching the desert.
